Driven by a passion for the mountains and skiing, Christiane and André Pinturault arrived in Courchevel in the early 1960s. In 1972, they decided to build their second establishment. Construction lasted two summers: 1973 and 1974. The first “new generation” luxury hotel, called Annapurna, opened for Christmas 1974. In the 1980s, they left management to their son and the 85-86 season was the one where Claude Pinturault definitively took charge of Annapurna. The first changes took place during the following summer, creating the first suites.

Since 2008, and after several transformations, all the rooms have been renovated in a more contemporary style. Annapurna is today like its residents: singular and remarkable. In 2014, it was the turn of the reception to be modernized as well as the lounge and the reception hall, including the installation of standards for people with reduced mobility. And during the summer of 2015, the decoration of the bar and restaurant was harmonized with that of the reception. In 2017, Annapurna continues its makeover while respecting its own mountain spirit. Repair of cladding and facades, replacement of balconies, etc. mix of materials (wood, stone and glass) in order to improve modernity. For the 2018-2019 season, the hotel has completely renovated its wellness area with indoor swimming pool, saunas, hammam, jacuzzi. During the summer of 2019, the hotel planned the creation of a kids club, the renovation of the ski room as well as the games room for teenagers.

To perpetuate the hotel's tradition, Sandra Pinturault, Claude's daughter, joined the team in 2013. She has held the position of General Manager for 2 years, after having worked at the reception then as Accommodation Director. In 2017, in order to mark her entry into the history of the hotel, Sandra made the decision to redesign the logo with the aim of modernizing it, always with the aim of maintaining tradition in mind. 30 years earlier, his father had also made this choice when he took over. Annapurna is now one of only two luxury hotels in Courchevel still owned by the founding family. Year after year, the Pinturault family continues to support its customers to offer them the best service and endless dreams.
